The largest collection of surrealist painter Salvador DalÃ's work outside his native Spain resides in St. Petersburg, Fla. Amber McAnally reports that a new 66,400-square-foot museum opened on Tuesday. Designed by HOK's Yann Weymouth, the building utilizes eco-friendly features, according to McAnally, although it's unclear if green building certification will be sought. The signature design feature is the "Glass Enigma," which contains 1,062 unique triangulated glass panels. "The design is reminiscent of DalÃ's transition from his early work in Cubism to his later eccentric surrealist masterpieces," McAnally writes.
